My iPhone 3G S was delivered yesterday and since then I’ve been playing with it extensively.
This isn’t a review – there are plenty of those out there – just a few quick thoughts:
The speed difference is pretty amazing. I use my iPhone a ton and this alone makes the upgrade worthwhile for me. It’s dramatically faster.
Other features like the compass and voice dialing are nice but I could live without them.
As others have noted, the camera is much improved – good enough that I doubt I would carry a point-and-shoot on a trip – just the DSLR and the iPhone. Video is a nice touch – I’ll probably only use that for live-blogging Vegas openings and the like.
Is it ‘worth it’? That’s highly subjective but for me, yes, I have no regrets and am very happy with the purchase.
